With regard to interim managers, we are talking about <strong>different management styles.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>It goes without saying that a large majority of interim managers are perfectionists, people who pay attention to detail and go to the end of things. Should we stop there to describe their managerial methodology?<\/p>\n\n<p>So here are, as society leads us to think, the <strong>4 styles of management<\/strong> that exist:<\/p>\n\n<p>\u2013 Persuasive<br\/> \u2013 Participative<br\/> \u2013 Directive<br\/> \u2013 Delegative<\/p>\n\n<p>My idea is not to quibble about these types of management, it has already been done. Of course, the vast majority of everything said about these management styles is true.  <strong>But too general for my taste, not enough out of the ideas locked away for so many generations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"our-vision\"><\/span>Our vision<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>I don&#8217;t think we need to get too attached to labels. <em>First<\/em> , do we have to talk about \u201cmanagement styles\u201d? <em>Secondly<\/em> , should we categorize a manager according to his style, as if the diversity of style was inconceivable?<\/p>\n\n<p>I prefer to talk about different \u201c <strong>generational<\/strong> \u201d managers (see our article: \u201c <em>Who is the New Generation Transition Manager?<\/em> \u201d). At least the age difference is not debatable. It&#8217;s a simple fact. But the style of management does not simply depend on this.<\/p>\n\n<p>Origins and culture also have a great influence on the way of managing. The diversity of experience acquired generates a \u201ctailor-made\u201d management. The mentoring received personally is also a very determining factor in the managerial methods of interim managers and their personalities.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"what-it-involves\"><\/span>What it involves<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>This vision, personal and different, helps me see the full <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reactive-executive.com\/en\/management-de-transition-2\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">potential of the Transition Managers<\/span><\/a><\/strong> with whom we work at Reactive Executive.<\/p>\n\n<p>To associate with someone on a simple \u201ccategory\u201d or \u201cstyle\u201d of management seems risky to me. How to define the manager in detail? It is often on \u201cdetails\u201d that an interim manager makes the difference during his missions. It is thanks to these \u201cdetails\u201d that he or she is perfectly suited to the challenges of the mission.<\/p>\n\n<p><em>At this precise moment, we realize that the details are very important and that they should take up more space on a CV.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>Humanist values \u200b\u200bcan be consistent with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reactive-executive.com\/en\/what-are-the-4-functions-of-management\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">management in general<\/span><\/a><\/strong> and specifically <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reactive-executive.com\/en\/management-de-transition-2\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">with transition management<\/span><\/a><\/strong> . It is important for me to be able to value each of the interim managers with whom we work, to promote their wealth. The idea is for us to consider interim managers as we consider our clients, not just pre-registered profiles. We do not \u201cplace\u201d managers, on assignment, with our clients. We meet the needs of our customers and support them with the talents of our managers, it&#8217;s a very different vision.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"an-ethical-management\"><\/span>An ethical management?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>I like to believe that the majority of interim managers want to leave their mark in the company where they are on assignment. Far from the policy of \u201cquickly done well\u201d, this work requires a sincere interest in the company and its employees.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Personal ethics<\/strong> are therefore very important, and weigh heavily in the balance. For simple example: the franchise. Jack Welch, former CEO of General Electrics, called the lack of candor &#8221; <em>the biggest untold secret in the corporate world<\/em> .&#8221; He said that for him, the franchise \u201c <em>expanded the circle of discussion<\/em> \u201d. Undoubtedly, such values favor the group and the employee.<\/p>\n\n<p>When an interim manager arrives in a company with <strong>ethical management<\/strong> , based on <strong>values of personal benevolence<\/strong> , his <strong>impact is twofold<\/strong> .
